EWC Recap + World’s Prep

The Esports World Cup was nothing short of an unparalleled showcase of global gaming talent. It featured high-stakes competition and jaw-dropping moments as top players from around the world battled it out in their respective games for the ultimate title of Esports World Champ. With cutting-edge production and thrilling matches across various popular Esports titles, this event delivered a breathtaking display of skill, strategy, and passion, uniting fans and players in an unforgettable celebration of Esports excellence. At long last, it was Limitless’ turn for a shot at solidifying themselves amongst the greatest that Rocket League has ever seen since the beginning of the title. With a shot at $550,000, Limitless began their tournament run against one of the best teams in Rocket League, G2 Stride

While the series did not go the way Limitless had wanted, the score didn’t tell the whole story. While G2 Stride outscored Limitless 9-3 across three games, Limitless held their own for the majority against the titans of G2 Stride despite a slow start in Game 1. Limitless dropped to the Lower Bracket in Group A and went against PWR. They say lightning never strikes twice, but it seemed to for Limitless against PWR as the story once again was the score didn’t tell the whole story. Being outscored 4-9 against PWR, Limitless currently held their own against two of the best teams in Rocket League; this was something that Limitless fans should feel great about despite their past showings at international events.

Shortly after the event concluded, the Rocket League team traveled to the United States and will stay there until the conclusion of the 2024 World Championship Event later this month. During one of their off days from practice, I had a very productive and positive conversation with Snowyy, who has become familiar with these conversations and seemed in very high spirits.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with me briefly, Snowyy. Let’s get into it. First, tell me about your time at EWC. How was your time in Saudi Arabia? It was nothing short of incredible; I have said this many times before, but the Gamers8/EWC tourney in Saudi Arabia is the best tournament on the calendar. The hospitality, activities, and general tournament setting are always the most enjoyable aspects for a player.

Those are definitely things you love to see, not only as a player but also as a spectator. It’s incredible to witness such an amazing event with the production level that happened at the event. Speaking of the tournament, let’s talk about your match against G2 and PWR. What was the game plan going into the match against G2 and PWR? Being the world-class teams that they are, we knew what to expect from them, so our game plan mainly focused on ourselves and our team play.

I cannot speak for everyone, but I believe the team play seemed more on par than what we’ve seen in previous events from you and the boys, especially at International events. Now, for those who aren’t aware that you and the boys are spending time here in America until Worlds, tell us about your time here in the States. Have you had any scrims against some of the teams within NA? Yeah, so we flew straight from Saudi to boot camp in North America; we are staying with two Limitless owners, BigSyn and John Barbee, which has been fantastic. So far, we have had a decent amount of scrims with North American teams competing at the world level.

Knowing how those guys love to have fun, I know they’ve been a blast to be around for the last few weeks, and I hope your time in the United States continues to deliver beyond expectations. Now, let’s look forward and talk about the RLCS World Championship event coming up in a few weeks. We drew G2 for our first matchup at Worlds. What’s the vibe within the team since the matchup at EWC, and now preparing for them at Worlds? I would say the vibe for the G2 game is perfect; we gave them a good run for their money back in Saudi Arabia, so we are confident coming into the next match at Worlds.

These are things that you love to hear as a Limitless fan. Snowyy, I wish you and the rest of the boys the best of luck in Fort Worth at the RLCS World Championship. Is there anything you want to say to the Limitless fans, friends or family who may read this article? Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope we can bring home a big result for all of you in Dallas.
